Hiking at Cerritos Beach

When it comes to adventure and fun, Cerritos Beach offers a wide variety of options that is sure to fill everyday of your trip with excitement and satisfaction. It’s very easy to spend your days of vacation relaxing and lounging, but for those who feel like getting their blood pumping, you may want to explore the different hiking trails around the area. With such a wide variety of trails from easy to more challenging, there is at least one to meet the levels of every hiker.

For those looking to have a nice stroll to simply get out of the hotel and breathe in the fresh Cerritos Beach air, a leisurely walk around the town would be a very viable option. The way the town is set up, allows you to do an entire loop making it easy to keep track how far you’ve walked and also easy to find your way back to where you started. Plus, there’s the additional perk of being able to stop for a sweet treat or drink along the way.

If that sounds a little too easy for you, another option would be to head to town but make your way towards the beach for a good hike. With about a one-hour trip each way, it allows for the perfect way to get some exercise all while seeing the beautiful coastline at your own pace.

Once you have conquered both of those or think you are up for a more taxing hiking adventure, make your way over to the gorgeous canyons that cross over the mountains south and east of town. Be prepared with lots of sunscreen, a hat and a ton of water during this trip as it can take nearly all day depending on how far you wander. With proper preparation, some even decide to head up to the upper parts of the canyon where snow can sometimes be found. This trek is sure to get both your endorphins going and blood pumping.

Whether you find yourself on one of these trails or discover an entirely new one, you definitely will not regret getting up off that hammock and enjoying the nature and beauty surrounding you. Cerritos Beach has so much to offer in regards to scenery and landscape, which makes hiking the perfect option to take it all in.

My family and I are still living in the States, but fell in love with Cerritos Beach 5 years ago. After searching for a way to be able to spend more time on Cerritos Beach, we found Jim’s project (Cerritos Beach Inn) while going for a run on the beach. Jump forward 2 years and the partnership came together to complete Cerritos Beach Inn. Google+
